City of Peterborough Academy

Extended Opportunities

We recognise the value and importance of offering high quality provision beyond the formal timetable.

At the City of Peterborough Academy we have quickly established a wide range of clubs and out-of-lesson activities. These will include sporting activities and performing arts, as well as giving pupils access to homework clubs and ICT facilities.

Sports offered may include tennis, football, rugby, netball, basketball, softball, athletics, cricket and Sports Leaders level 1.

We will also look to offer extended musical tuition, which is free for Year 7 pupils, an Academy choir and a band/orchestra as the Academy grows.

Pupils benefit from visits to concerts, the theatre, museums and other venues. The Academy continually looks to develop opportunities for such activities and extend the range of residential trips available. Currently, the Year 7 induction programme and the Year 8 team building initiative are supported by one and three day trips to Grafham Water, where pupils take part in a variety of activities including, sailing, archery, rock-climbing and mountain-biking.
