Technology impacts on every single aspect of our lives, from health, education, environment and security to research and development, oil and gas exploration, manufacturing, tourism, transport and pretty much everything else! In an ever increasingly technological age it is impossible to predict where ICT and Computing will be when you leave school and as such you will be hard pushed to find a job which won’t appreciate a solid grasp of ICT and Computing skills. This is one of the main reasons the government recognises Computing as a core subject at Key Stage 4.
Learners will study a variety of practical learning assignments to become fully conversant with popular office applications, meeting employer workforce demands. There is no coursework but assessments will be undertaken as ‘mock exams’ prior to online, on-demand practical exams. Three applications are covered in depth: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Our aim is to equip every learner with core transferable IT skills for life that are appropriate to get into today’s computer driven industry’s. Learners are able to progress onto further education or gain entry into the work place with this course.
