City of Peterborough Academy are delighted to have been chosen to work with the Skills Builder Partnership as a participant school of the Skills Builder Accelerator in the 2023-24 academic year.

Skill development is a core part of our City of Peterborough Academy Careers strategy.

We will be developing students’ employability skills in the following areas:

• Listening
• Speaking
• Problem solving
• Creativity
• Staying positive
• Aiming high
• Leadership
• Teamwork

Each skill has a series of Skills Builder level descriptors, so students are constantly developing their skills to higher levels.

Delivery of the Skills Builder Programme will take place through:

• Explicit teaching of skills in tutor time.
• Development and rehearsal of skills in PSHE lessons.
• Deliberate practice of skills in curriculum time.
• Evidencing of skills development through the Unifrog platform.
